Reflecting on My Growth: Looking Back and Honoring How Far I’ve Come

By

The other day, I took a quiet moment to flip through my old journal 📓 entries and blog posts. As I read through the thoughts of a younger version of me tired, hopeful, unsure, and searching I felt something shift in my chest. Not sadness. Not regret. But gratitude. Deep, grounding gratitude.

I’ve come a long way.

Back then, I was just trying to make sense of life. I was healing, unlearning, stretching, falling, and standing back up again. I didn’t always have the answers. And truthfully, I still don’t. But I have more peace now. More self-trust 🌱. More awareness of what I truly need and what I don’t have to carry anymore.

It’s wild how much we forget in the middle of becoming.

Those journals reminded me of how many prayers I prayed not knowing they were already being answered just slowly, in ways I couldn’t yet see. I used to think healing was a destination. Now I know it’s a layered journey some days are soft, some days are sharp. But all of it has shaped me.

I’m proud of the woman I am today.

I’m not perfect. But I’m present. I’m growing. I’m learning to love myself louder, even on the hard days.

If you’re on your own journey right now, unsure of where it’s all going keep going. Write it down. Talk to yourself kindly. Trust that the version of you reading this a year from now will look back and whisper, “We did it, again.”

Today, I’m Reminded of These Truths:

I am not who I used to be and that’s a blessing.

I don’t have to have it all figured out to be worthy.

I am enough, even in the becoming.

I’m allowed to feel proud of my progress.

So here’s to the growth we don’t always see in real-time. Here’s to the quiet strength that builds when no one is watching. And here’s to the pages we’ll write tomorrow stronger, wiser, and still growing 🤍.

Have you looked back at your own journey lately? What would the old you be proud of today?

Let’s talk about it in the comments.
