The start of a new year always brings new opportunities to grow, but balancing financial, career, and personal goals can feel overwhelming at times. In 2025, I’m committed to making this my year to fully embrace my purpose, release anything that holds me back, and focus on intentional, meaningful growth.
Here’s how I’m staying on track—and what I’ve decided to leave behind.
1. Letting Go of People-Pleasing
For a long time, I put others’ needs before my own, even when it made me unhappy. This year, I’ve decided to focus on myself and my family first.
What I’m Doing Differently: Before saying yes to anything, I ask, “Does this support my goals?” If it doesn’t, I politely say no without feeling bad.
Why It Matters: Constantly giving to others left me feeling drained. By putting myself first, I’ve become a better parent and person overall.
2. Speaking My Truth
I used to keep my thoughts and feelings to myself out of fear of conflict or rejection. Now, I’m learning to speak up.
What Changed: I remind myself that my voice is important. Whether I’m talking to friends, co-parents, or work partners, I now share my thoughts with confidence.
The Result: People respect me more, and I respect myself for standing up for what I believe in.
3. Taking Care of Business
This year, I’m focused on handling my responsibilities in all areas of my life—finances, career, and personal growth.
My Plan:
- I’m using the snowball method to pay off debt.
- I’m working toward my dream of becoming a social media manager by learning new skills and building my portfolio.
- I’m taking steps to create a stable home for my kids and me.
Why It Works: I’ve learned that being consistent and disciplined leads to progress. Small steps every day add up to big results.
4. Staying Motivated
With so many goals, it can feel overwhelming, but I’ve found ways to keep myself going:
Celebrating Small Wins: I take time to feel proud of little achievements, like paying off a bill or completing a task.
Visualizing Success: I picture what my life will look like when I reach my goals, which helps me stay focused.
Leaning on My Why: My kids and my desire to create a better future keep me motivated every day.
What I’ve Learned
This year, I’m focused on being my true self, living with purpose, and staying consistent. Letting go of people-pleasing, speaking my mind, and staying on top of my responsibilities have made a big difference.
I’m not perfect, but I’m growing, and that’s what matters. If you’re feeling stuck, try letting go of things that hold you back and focus on what really matters to you.
How are you staying motivated this year? Let’s inspire each other!
