It’s okay to take a break 🧖🏾‍♀️

It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life, constantly trying to push forward and accomplish more. We live in a society that values productivity above all else, often encouraging us to work harder, push harder, and achieve more. But the truth is, sometimes we need to take a break.

Taking a break doesn’t mean you’re giving up or backing down. It means you’re prioritizing your health and well-being. It means acknowledging that you’re not a machine, but a human being with limitations and needs.

It’s important to recognize that taking a break doesn’t make you lazy or unproductive. In fact, studies show that taking regular breaks can actually increase productivity, creativity, and overall well-being. When you take the time to pause, rest, and recharge, you’re able to come back to your work with renewed energy and focus.

So, what does taking a break look like? It can be different for everyone. It might mean taking a day off work to go hiking, reading a book, or spending time with loved ones. It might mean taking a break from social media or other distractions to focus on your mental and emotional health. It might mean saying no to additional commitments or responsibilities to give yourself more space to breathe.

Whatever form it takes, taking a break is vital for our physical and mental health. It allows us to reduce stress, increase creativity, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. So next time you’re feeling overwhelmed or burnt out, remember that it’s okay to take a break. Your mind and body will thank you for it.

Since January, I’ve been making space for me to cocoon. I come upstairs, bring water, a book, and make myself a warm and cozy space and just tune out for a bit. I am just learning that my worthiness of love is not related to how much stuff I accomplish each day (40 years later…). But, it is nice to give myself permission to not do everything all the time.

Absolutely and thank you for sharing I can relate! You are always worthy of love and affection just as you are. Your worth is not determined by external factors. It’s important to love and care for yourself, and surround yourself with people who appreciate and support you for who you are.
